Stories for lovers and the hopeless romantics who envy their worlds…..
such as me for one. I personally love to photograph weddings and I will tell you why. I get to be the first person to document the rest of their lives as one. Forever perpetuating their love story through countless images that they will love and cherish for years to come. When you get to witness a romance like Russ and Jess’s you can’t help but to find yourself reminiscing about what it felt like to be in love…Having met through mutual friends they decided to meet at the movies to see Hugo. At 16 there wasn’t much for them to do in the town of Calicoon, NY. So finding a place like the picture show became their excuse to see one another. Several years later…
To hear her talk about the love of her life as she sits in the salon discussing the events of the day with her trusty bridesmaids. I over hear Jessica say, giggling “Russ is so sweet he sends me this message” and reads the text aloud “suit, boots and me! am I forgetting anything?” we all pipe up and say… “The rings”. Jessica candidly responds and states “Russ is not aloud to have the rings, I have them”…. I smiled at the warmth in her words and kept shooting.
Christmas eve rolls around and Russy decides to let his humor taunt….
Jessica’s curiosity. So as a gift he gives her a box and inside the box is another box and inside that one is an empty ring box! Jess starts to wonder what the heck is going on. So she examines the box and starts to wonder. As Jess lifts her head to say it’s empty. Russ pulls the ring out of his pocket and pops the question.. “Will you Marry me?”. With tears rolling down her face she finds her way through the emotions and says “YES, of course I will marry you”…
Finding the time to gather their closest friends and family to the The Central House & Resort in BeachLake PA. On this beautiful WET and rainy day we found dry spots to capture the first look that Jess and Russ shared prior to the commencement of their vows.
The day may have been wet with rain and sniffling noses….
But the wedding turned out to be as perfectly as she imagined it. Very untraditional and full of laughter that left her loved ones with a good time at Russ & Jess’s wedding.
I also have to note that it is always a pleasure to work with brides and grooms who are eager to share in the memories these events create. It may just be another party to some.. but for others, its a chance to witness lovely romances. Giving a light to the belief that love is everywhere…
